War zum ersten Mal bei der Genfer Motor Show (bislang erst in Tokio und Shanghai, aber da war ich so uffjeregt, dass ich von der Ausstellung selbst nichts mitgekriegt habe). Dieses Mal etwas mehr Luft (wenn auch nur im übertragenen Sinne). Am spannendsten fand ich das Kontrastprogramm / die schiere Bandbreite an Fahrzeugen, die man sonst in dieser extremen Spanne wohl nie aus erster Hand erlebt.

Andererseits ist es natürlich auch leicht, “cool as a cucumber” zu bleiben, wenn man folgendes Presseecho generiert:

“The Bugatti might have been the king for a brief moment, but Koenigsegg was ready for the Molsheim monster. The Swedish madmen yanked the covers off their newest megacar, the Koenigsegg Regera.”

“I’ll repeat that: the Regera doesn’t have a gearbox. And that’s only the tip of this insanity-iceberg.”

“...Koenigsegg estimates a 0-400 km/h time of 20 seconds.

Yes, you read that last bit right. This means the rear-drive Regera is 0.3s slower to 100km/h than the AWD 16-cylinder 1103kW/1600Nm Chiron, but by the time you hit 300km/h, the Koenigsegg with its multitude of torque sources has left the heavier Bugatti in the dust.”

Alles in Allem superinteressant aber auch körperlich anstrengend. Als Dolmetscher beunruhigend, dass man nach zwei Tagen konstanter Geräuschkulisse erstmal abends ein Rauschen auf den Ohren hat, das sich dann allerdings auch schnell wieder legt. Trotzdem, irgendwann wird Luft, Licht und Geräuschdämmung vielleicht auch mal von Messebauern entdeckt. Aber das ist ja (bis auf eine meiner absoluten Lieblingslocations, Messe Leipzig) meistens Mangelware.

Ausserdem einen der besten Italiener ever entdeckt, in Bahnhofsnähe und preislich zwar trotzdem aua aber für die Schweiz sogar noch recht zivil (ich sage nur 40 Euro für Pizza mit 2 Bier).

Lustig: Bee Bee XS, das der Spiegel passend als “ eine Mixtur aus Dadaismus und einem grellen sehr knappen Bikini.” beschreibt.

Am anderen Ende des Spektrums begeisternd: Koenigsegg
